Our Peaceable Season
This year, the Chorale responds to calls from a world increasingly divided. We offer five visions of a serene planet united in peaceful pursuits. Peace is a universal project, so our repertoire is accordingly diverse: Gabriel Faure, Arvo Pärt, Randall Thompson, Alice Parker, Moses Hogan, Stephen Paulus, and much more. We hope you will join us to celebrate and be moved by majestic music that uplifts, soothes, stirs, and soars.

The Bach Chorale Singers is pleased to announce that Michael Bennett will take the helm as Artistic Director for the 53rd season, beginning in Fall 2017.
Bennett is a familiar, friendly face to the Bach Chorale. From 2004-09, he was the Assistant Conductor and Youth Chorus Director. As the chorale's primary conductor for the 2006-07 season, he was privileged to direct both choruses while on tour in Washington, D.C., at the Washington National Cathedral and the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
Michael is the Director of Music at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Lafayette, where he serves as organist for all services, oversees the parish’s musical offerings, directs the choir program, and administers the concert series.
Mr. Bennett is also choral director at Lafayette Jefferson High School where he directs several choirs, including the award winning Varsity Singers, who were state runners-up at the 2016 Indiana State School Music Association concert finals. In 2014 he was recognized for his excellent teaching by the Greater Lafayette Commerce as a Golden Apple Teacher, one of the newest teachers to the profession to have received the award.
Michael, a native of Roanoke, VA is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Music where he received his Bachelor's degree in Organ Performance and the Master of Music degree in Organ Performance and Choral Conducting. His primary instructors there were William Jon Gray, Marilyn Keiser, and Larry Smith.
As a concert organist, Mr. Bennett has performed extensively across the Midwest and East Coast, playing in cathedrals and for chapters of the American Guild of Organists in more than ten states. He also can be heard in recording with the choirs of Vassar College, where he made his discography debut in a live performance of Mozart's Requiem with solo organ accompaniment.
Please join us in welcoming Michael back to the Bach Chorale Singers!
What's In a Name? More about the Lafayette Children's Choir
Our most devoted, eagle-eyed patrons and audiences may have noticed that our youth choirs recently changed their name to the Lafayette Children's Choir. This change, heartily endorsed and approved by the Bach Chorale Board and Officers, was made to better advertise and reflect the groups' activities and mission. Those who want to know a bit more about the change might enjoy reading this one-page story we created about the renaming process. We hope to see you at the Children's Choir's exciting concerts!

Season 52: A Bicentennial Celebration
We are delighted and thrilled to announce Season 52: A Bicentennial Celebration! The State of Indiana is celebrating the 200th anniversary of its statehood in the Union and the Bach Chorale is paying tribute with a suite of concerts this Fall and next Spring.
While we're excited about our entire program, we are particularly proud of our Youth Choirs, who will participate in the Indiana Voices in Song festival in November. In a great twist of fortune for residents of the Twin Cities, this festival will take place at our own Purdue University. The festival culminates in a final performance, which will be a "Can't-Miss" opportunity.
Details are available on our Concerts page.
We look forward to making joyous music for you all!
